Mr. Miller is a lawyer and accountant by education. He is President of 4M Investments, LLC, an international private investment company, since 2001. He is also the founder, Chairman and majority shareholder of Visual Intelligence, LP, a privately held imaging technologies company since 2001, as well as Executive Chairman of 4M HR Logistics, LLC.
Mr. Miller has extensive executive, financial and governance experience as a significant shareholder, executive officer and director of both start-up companies and large public companies. He has served on audit, compensation, finance and governance board committees. From 1994 to 2002, Mr. Miller was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Crown Castle International Corp. (NYSE:CCI), a global wireless communications infrastructure company he founded in 1994, with a current enterprise value in excess of $40 billion. He was the founder and majority shareholder of Intercomp Technologies, LLC, dba Intercomp Global Services, a privately held business process outsourcing company founded in Moscow, Russia in 1994 with operations throughout the former C.I.S. Intercomp was sold to Elbrus Capital in October 2013. From 2003 to 2010, he was the founder, Chairman and majority shareholder of M7 Aerospace, LP, a privately held aerospace service, manufacturing and technology company which was sold to Elbit Systems of America (NASDAQ:ESLT) in December 2010. Mr. Miller was also a shareholder and served as a member of the board of directors of Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (NYSE:ACS), a global business process outsourcing company employing over 70,000 employees with a $6 billion market capitalization from November 2008 until the acquisition of the company by Xerox Corporation (NYSE:XRX) in February 2010. He was also a shareholder and board member of Airgas, Inc. (NYSE:ARG) which is a supplier of industrial, medical and other specialty gases. Airgas was sold to Air Liquide in May 2016 for $14 billion. Additionally, Mr. Miller has developed office, retail and distribution space across the U.S.
Dr. Armando Guevara possesses a unique combination of technology and business savvy. With a solid record of R&D and business accomplishments in the geospatial industry in companies such as ESRI, Intergraph and Gtt NetCorp/DigitalGlobe, Dr. Guevara is a technology vision developer with prolific writings “On the Spatial Enabling of Information”, “Adaptable-Scalable Spatial Architectures”, “The Science of Where”, and “Geoimaging the World Online”; he is also a recognized pioneer in first coining the term “geospatial”.
As Chief Executive Officer of Visual Intelligence, Dr. Guevara is the Principal Technology Architect, Strategist and Evangelist. During his tenure he has led Visual Intelligence to transition from a services company, to a leading edge software technology company with a growing patents portfolio, and numerous national and international technology innovation awards. Under his leadership Visual Intelligence now offers to license an industry game changer software and array technology: the first truly Lego®-like modular and scalable software foundation for 2D-3D metric sensor development, the iOne STKA® (Software Sensor Tool Kit Architecture).
President & COO
As the President and Chief Operating Officer for Visual Intelligence, Jay Tilley oversees the technology development for Visual Intelligence. Mr. Tilley has an extensive background in geospatial technologies, and is a senior remote sensing, mapping, and algorithm specialist with more than 25 years of experience in the collection systems design (aerial and satellite), processing systems (algorithm development), and analysis of remote sensing data for government and commercial applications. Mr. Tilley holds a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology with studies in optical design, image processing, and software engineering.
Mr. Tilley has published more than 20 papers on sensor, software, and system design and was an invited speaker and panelist for a number of technical conferences including Optical Society of America (OSA), Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE), MAPPS, and the International LiDAR Mapping Forum. Mr. Tilley also served on several company start-up advisory boards as a member of the Colorado Technology Incubator and has led Science Advisory Boards for Resource-21 and The Sanborn Map Company.
Over his career, Mr. Tilley worked as technical lead on a number of innovative optical systems including high energy laser programs, synthetic aperture imagery programs, design of large ground based telescopes featuring atmospheric compensation, hyper-spectral sensors and processing for Oil and Gas, and design of satellite optical payloads. Highlights include first ever synthesis of high resolution images of space objects from the ground using laser illumination, design of a large multiple aperture membrane telescope in Chile, design of aerial sensors for the Global Hawk UAV, and engineering lead for the Quickbird Satellite Sensor design for Digital Globe. Additionally Mr. Tilley is also a software engineer/architect leading novel geo-spatial and enterprise-level software processing and database systems. Examples include the implementation of the Dubai Police Command Center Geospatial system, design of 3D software product from generation of virtual cities producing millions of 3D building models worldwide, and design of video analytics systems for security applications.
Kevin Brown is the Chief Financial Officer and active member of the Board of Directors for Visual Intelligence. Also a Partner at 4M Investments, Mr. Brown is responsible for leading the firm’s Private Equity Investment Holdings as well as finding and facilitating new investment opportunities. He holds various Leadership and Board Level Positions including CEO and Co-Chairman of Intercomp Technologies LLC, the leading international payroll provider in the CIS and Russia. Mr. Brown also serves as President of M7 Staffing and Business.
Prior to joining 4M Investments, Mr. Brown joined M7 Aerospace in 2004 and ultimately led the company as Chief Executive Officer until its sale to Elbit Systems of America in 2010. He was responsible for all aspects of the Aerospace and Defense company including overseeing its seven businesses: Aerostructures Manufacturing; Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO); Government Logistics Support; Aircraft Parts and Support; Supply Chain Management, Staffing and Engineering Services. During this seven year timeframe, M7 Aerospace grew from $8 Million in Annual Revenue to $135 Million.
Mr. Brown has held numerous corporate and strategic development positions internationally, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, equity investments and business development with Crown Castle International. He played an instrumental role in growing Crown Castle from a private entity
into a publicly traded NYSE corporation with a $9 Billion market cap (Currently $18 billion). This was accomplished primarily thru completing large scale acquisitions requiring fundraising from both private equity and public sources on an International basis. In addition to the acquisition growth, Brown played a key role the management of Crown Castle’s strategic business units that consisted of various technology and R&D investments in the wireless infrastructure industry.
Mr. Brown is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Texas Tech University with bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Economics, and serves on the Rawls College of Business Advisory Council at Texas Tech.
